There are great teams… and then there’s Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels.

On Saturday in Páirc Tailteann, our ladies carved their names into Meath football history with a third consecutive Senior Championship title, completing an incredible three-in-a-row against St Peter’s Dunboyne.
Play with the aid of the wind the Royal Gaels came out like champions on a mission.
After St Peter’s opened the scoring, Meadhbh Byrne responded instantly before combining beautifully with Ciara Gorman for the first of the day’s four goals.
Moments later, Rachael Doonan finished a superb team move involving Petra Reilly, Niamh McEntee, and Niamh Gallogly to fire home the second.
And before St Peter’s could recover, Gorman was on hand again with a quick-thinking free that found the

Meadhbh Byrne kept the scoreboard ticking with points from play while Niamh Gallogly, Ella Moyles, and Ciara Gorman continued to pile on the pressure.
With their determination unmatched and with the scoreboard reading 3-9 to 1-1, and the black and amber faithful in the stands could sense history, 30 years in the making.

St Peter’s Dunboyne 1-1
With the wind at their backs, St Peter’s pushed hard after the restart, but Dunshaughlin Royal Gaels stood firm.
The defensive trio of Sarah Duffy, Keva McTigue, and Ava O’Brien were outstanding, while Sadhbh Ó Muiri and Karla Kealy tirelessly broke up attacks and launched counterplays.
Then came the killer moment when Niamb Gallogly’s long-range effort dropped perfectly into the net for the fourth goal, sealing the win and the three-in-a-row.
From there, it was all about composure. Kristina Troy came on to make an impact, splitting the posts late on as the champions controlled every minute to the final whistle.
