On a murky Sunday morning at home our U14 Div 7 girls lined out against a strong St Colmcilles team. It was a tough game and conditions made handling difficult with a greasy ball. The girls supported each other well but went in at half time trailing 1-07 to no score despite hitting the post on 2 or 3 occasions. The 2nd half was a different game altogether, and in the 5th minute we put it between the posts for our first score of the game. That gave the girls a great boost and another point soon followed , at the water break in the 2nd half the score line read 2-08 to 1-01 but the girls in black and Amber were not going to give up and held their opponents to a single point in the last quarter, whilst scoring 3-03 themselves to grind out an unexpected but fully deserved victory
Final score 4-04 to 2-09 to the Royal Gaels, who’s moto is never give up 🖤💛
