This year our Nursery will cater for children born in 2019, 2020 and new to Nursery, babies born in 2021.
For our new recruits, babies born in 2021, this will be a parent led group. Parents, along with their children, will be guided by our mentors throughout the session. This will present both parents and children an opportunity to enjoy learning the basics skills of the game while having plenty of fun together.
Important dates for the 2021 group:
Parent Induction – Friday 21st March at 6pm – a welcome meeting to help parent orientate to the surrounds and what will occur during a Nursery session.
2021 babies first session – from Friday 28th March onwards both parents and children are welcome.
Our Nursery returns fully on Friday 4th April 2025 catering for children born in 2019, 2020 and our newest recruits, children born in 2020.
Our Nursery provides a series of fun-based exercises to develop movement and motor skills for children aged 4 to 6 years old.
These skills form the basis for the later development of the specific skills of Gaelic Football.
The level of competency with which one can perform these skills is referred to as their Level of Physical Literacy.
Fundamental Movement and Basic Motor Skills are developed in the early years of physical development to provide the basis for all further movement and motor development.
The Nursery programme focuses on fundamental movement skills including Crawling, Rolling, Agility, Balance, Coordination, Running and Jumping skills. Over the coming months we will focus on basic motor skills including Throwing, Catching and Passing, Kicking and Striking skills and on the player’s ability to play with and manipulate a ball.
You can find us in Dunshaughlin and Royal Gaels GAA grounds on the Drumree Road every Friday evening from 6p to 7pm
Need a map, that’s okay, we’ve got one here
