Result U16 Div 1

Skyrne 7-15

Royal Gaels 2-08

A tough night for our U16 girls who gave their all against a very strong Skyrne side. A beautiful sunny evening in Skyrne for a game with both teams having already qualified for Semi-final spots, home advantage was at stake for this encounter. RG started brightly with a missed chance on goal before skryne took control and scored 2-02 without reply. This but RG on the back foot and struggled to cope with Skyrne’s forward line, a point by RG would be answered with a goal at the other end. At the half Skyrne lead 5-08 to1-06. Our girls never gave up and fought to the end, but some missed opportunities from RG again where answered with clinical finishing from Skyrne. By the second water break the match was over as a contest but our girls pressured on held Skyrne to a draw in the final quarter, two point each team. Lots to build on and hopefully better to come in the semi final, well done girls.
