On Friday last , we held our yearly gathering of Dunshaughlin and Royal Gaels annual general meeting with what could be a record breaking turnout in attendance with over 80 members . In a packed room we dove straight into the agenda , a summary presented of a very comprehensive and detailed secretary’s report, our outgoing chairman’s address and election of officers and motions well debated but clearly standing proudly at the top of the room was a trophy table with eight spectacular cups , a shining reminder of the clubs success for 2024.
As our outgoing chairman Franks Gallogys tenure of Dunshaughlin and Royal Gaels draws to a close , we must admit it will be hard to fill the void left by his unmistaken leadership, quick wit and lets be honest the occasional ability to delegate like a true pro . After three years at the helm , handling dramas on and off the field and juggling countless meetings , it will be time for a well deserved break . its now time to swap committee meeting for family dinners , matches for for travel itineraries and club politic for well probably Angela’s to do list.
Frank , your dedication to the club has been legendary , you leave the club stronger , better and absolutely in a thriving state . you will be missed by many and you have set the bar high and for that we thank you .
Lets give a warm welcome to our new club chairman Pauric Mc Govern . We wish him and all newly elected officers the very best as they take the helm, here’s to a successful time ahead filled with great achievements , good times and plenty of Cavan spirit.
